Welcome back. As we look ahead, we are faced with the daunting prospect that during this term the Yr 12 Drama, Visual Arts and Music students will be completing the largest component of the Creative Arts HSC course. For the teachers and students associated with these courses this can be an anxious time, but we will be working hard together to ensure that we give of our best so that the final submitted projects will be of a high standard. It is important that the students involved in these courses work closely with staff to complete their works by the due date, as well as continue to work effectively in all other courses.
For these three courses, the collection and submission of major works will begin in week 6 of this term. The dates are as follows:
23rd August: Completion of Drama Individual projects.
23rd – 27th August: Expected arrival of HSC Markers for Drama Group and Individual Performances
30th August: Completion and Hand in of Visual Arts Body of Works
6th -17th September: Completion and expected arrival of HSC Markers for Music performances
While our main focus is on the HSC projects, we still have a very busy term ahead of us. The Music department will be hosting the Senior Music Ensemble Evening next Friday evening 30th July at 7pm in the Performing Arts Centre. This evening is aimed at highlighting the excellent work that is being done by our music student in Years 10, 11 and 12. The students will be performing a variety of ensemble pieces and we look forward to witnessing the myriad of talent that the College harbours.
